The General Meeting of TEAE was held in Almaty

More than two years ago, on October 27, 2022, the founding meeting of a new association was held: The Theological Evangelical Association of Eurasia (TEAE), which was attended by more than 40 participants, representatives of 29 organizations. The main goal of the association is to unite educational and other evangelical institutions and associations in Eurasia to better serve the churches in the field of education. The first General Meeting of TEAE was held in April 2023. The schools faced an important but difficult task — to continue building relationships with each other and with the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education, to become useful to the churches of the Eurasia region, to develop accreditation processes for theological schools, and to improve their educational level. Over the past two years, with God’s help, this has been accomplished.

From April 23 to 26, the second General Meeting of TEAE was held. It was a great joy to introduce the new members of the association. The Third Millennium Ministry, Holy Trinity Reformed Seminary, and Foursquare Eurasia Bible Institute joined the TEAE family. There was an application from an educational institution in Tajikistan. The addition of new members shows the confidence of the churches in the work the TEAE is doing. Today TEAE has 24 members and 14 observers.

At the opening session, Michael Ortiz, Director of the International Council for Evangelical Theological Education, gave a welcome address in a video message, followed by an informative presentation and report by David Burke, Chairman of the Board of the organization, in which he outlined global trends in Christian education and pointed out the challenges for both formal and non-formal Christian education.

The TEAE General Meeting is the time when the Association Council, Presidents and Executive Director are elected. Rector of the Almaty Bible Institute Yuri Skurydin was elected President from Asia, Rector of the Moscow Theological Institute Sergey Yastrzhembsky was elected President from Europe. Alexander Spichak from TVSEMINARY was elected as Executive Director.

Thanks to the brothers and sisters who agreed to carry on this ministry for the next two years with the support of the TEAE schools
